The statistics archive is back!
Historical iron and steel production data are now available in the new statistics archive in PDF format. The data have been divided into annual tables and monthly tables. The annual files go back as far as 1980 and the monthly files start from 1990.

New working paper on indirect trade in steel
This paper aims to define and develop methodologies and to indicate use of indirect trade in steel. Indirect trade in steel - exports and imports of steel in the form of steel-containing manufactured goods - is a crucial issue in steel demand estimations. Incorporating indirect trade in steel allows a more realistic picture of steel use.

'Most admired' metals companies are worldsteel members
Fortune magazine has published its 2012 lists of the world's 'most admired companies'. Nine out of the 10 most admired companies in the metals category are steel companies, all worldsteel members.

Sustainability case studies: highlighting actions taken by steelmakers
In the sustainability section of worldsteel.org, there are nearly 40 case studies that describe actions taken by worldsteel member companies to address sustainable challenges. The most recently updated article is about building a habitat for an endangered frog species, the Green and Golden Bell Frog, on a steelworks site in Australia.
