steeluniversity organises the annual steelChallenge competition for students and industry professionals to demonstrate their knowledge of steelmaking. Participants use advanced steel manufacturing simulators to produce steel that meets the required specifications at the lowest possible total cost during the Regional Championship.

The top-performing student and industry competitor from each of the five regions advance to the World Championship, where they compete to claim the title of the world’s best steelmaker.

steelChallenge has engaged tens of thousands of participants worldwide since its launch and has become a flagship initiative for attracting and developing the next generation of steel professionals.
