steeluniversity is the learning and training programme of worldsteel. The programme delivers education and training to current and future employees of steel companies and related businesses.

Learning is delivered online via the steeluniversity website, integration into organisational learning management systems, and in person. steeluniversity delivers knowledge of steel manufacturing, ferrous metallurgy, steel applications, environment, safety, and the business of steel.

steelChallenge

steeluniversity organises the annual steelChallenge competition for students and industry professionals to demonstrate their knowledge of steelmaking. Participants use steel manufacturing simulators to produce the required steel at the lowest total cost during the Regional Championship.

The winning student and industry professional from each of the five regions qualify for the World Championship where they compete to claim the title of world’s best steelmaker.

steelManagement is an executive education course on steel business strategy. Participants discover the different aspects of running a steel company in a global market. This course takes place every year in the first quarter.
