The second worldsteel Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conference took place in Qingdao, China from 9 to 11 July 2025.
The conference was jointly organised by the World Steel Association (worldsteel) and HBIS Group, and is hosted by Dahe Metal.
This conference focused on the life cycle assessment (LCA) of steel products and the systematic innovation of the value chain, aiming to promote the green transformation of the steel industry, efficient resource utilisation, and the coordinated innovation and development of the upstream and downstream of the value chain.
By integrating LCA with the value chain system innovation, it strives to contribute to achieving the “dual carbon” goals and sustainable development.
This conference brought together experts, scholars, leading enterprises, research institutions, policymakers, and representatives from related industries in the domestic and international steel sector to jointly discuss the innovative practical applications of life cycle assessment and how it can support the scientific reduction of carbon emissions and the pursuit of sustainable development along the industrial chain.
