First Coke Oven Battery Put into operation at Risun Weishan, Indonesia

On July 19, 2023, a momentous milestone was achieved as the first coke oven battery of the Risun Weishan cokemaking project successfully pushed its first batch of coke. This breakthrough marks a significant accomplishment for Sinosteel MECC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinosteel E&T and also the EP general contractor of the project. It is noteworthy that this project stands not only as Indonesia’s largest cokemaking endeavor but also represents the most substantial contracted and constructed effort undertaken by a Chinese enterprise abroad.
