In light of the unprecedented disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic, worldsteel has taken the decision not to publish its April Short Range Outlook (SRO) for steel demand this month.
Instead, worldsteel will share some observations on the market, incorporating views from the Economic Committee’s recent online meeting. These will be published on our website on Friday 17th April.
Baris Çiftçi, Head, Strategic Initiatives, worldsteel, will follow up with a blog on the state of the raw materials markets on Friday 24th April.
The current plan is to release a full SRO in early June when we trust the markets will have stabilised somewhat, as we see they are doing in China.
The monthly publication of global crude steel production data is unaffected by recent events. The March data will be released on Wednesday 22nd April.
