A webinar was held on 13 May 2020 from 14:00 to 15:00 (CET) on the theme:
Protecting your workers – Challenges and questions around providing effective respiratory protection to employees in the steel industry.
Below you can watch a video recording of the webinar.
The current COVID-19 crisis has resulted in unprecedented challenges facing employers for adapting their workplaces to continue or restart business operations, continue to minimise exposures to existing occupational hazards and minimise the risk of transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 within the workplace.
This webinar was presented by two technical specialists from the 3M Personal Safety Division – Scott Shinn and Stewart Ayrey.
Scott and Stewart discussed different types of PPE options available to you, explained the main differences between masks and respirators; tried to help you understand the differences between N95, FFP2, KN95 and other classifications; provided some guidance on methods to optimise the use of respirators; and finally answered a number of frequently asked questions, including:
- Alternative respirator options due to possible supply shortages
- Effectiveness of existing respirators worn in the workplace by workers who cannot social distance
- PPE options for workers who do not normally wear respirators and cannot social distance while at work
At the end of the webinar there was a q&a session. We hope you will have found this useful.
